We are so excited to finally reveal this beautiful outdoor space in the charming and vibrant Atlanta neighborhood of Virginia Highland! I’m lucky enough to call these clients dear friends – like, maid-of-honor in my wedding, friends for over twenty years kind of friends. Naturally, when she and her husband asked for our help with their new home, I was thrilled to have the opportunity. Even more exciting, our clients are getting ready to be first-time parents in the next couple of months; so, it has been such an honor to be a part of this sweet and special time of helping them feel settled before the baby arrives.
We wanted their outdoor lounge and dining area to be an extension of their indoor living space, so we kept the furnishings neutral with blacks, whites, grays, and wood tones and layered subtle pops of color with pillows and plants. By creating a neutral foundation, the client can easily modify the color palette with new pillows and accessories at anytime.
The courtyard already had beautiful pavers, string lights, and tons of mature landscaping which creates the perfect backdrop for al fresco dining in these fun woven club chairs and their curvy counterparts.
We brought in stylish warm washed teak chairs along with a matching sofa to create the ideal sitting area for movie night under the stars or watching the game with friends. I love the textured finishing touches of the rope-wrapped armrests and cotton weaving along the back - understated but sophisticated.
I can't wait for this growing family to make many fun memories out here. And one of the perks of having friends as clients is I'll be able to enjoy this awesome space, too! :)
Stay tuned for the next part of our Virginia Highland Project reveal - the front porch!
